ASTRO Cha Eun Woo To Create OST For Hit Webtoon Under The Oak Tree

ASTRO Cha Eun Woo grew into a golden K-pop idol who can do anything.

Before debuting with ASTRO, Cha Eun Woo famously appeared in the film My Brilliant Life. When he finally felt the urge to join the music industry, he joined the Fantagio iTeen Photo Test Cut and became the fourth trainee to be introduced.

He and the other members of the K-pop group participated in the web drama To Be Continued before their highly-anticipated debut in February 2016.


Cha Eun Woo already proved he can be an idol, model, and actor at the same time by accepting several projects from different entertainments. Aside from his visuals, the K-pop idol will lend his voice again to sing the OST for the webtoon series, Under The Oak Tree.

Naver News confirmed that the K-pop idol would be part of the webtoon's OST album by gracing the series with his Don't Cry, My Love.


RIDI added it would release the song of Kim Soo Ji's romance fantasy series on November 30 alongside a lyric video. Cha Eun Woo's song will reportedly serve as the male protagonist Riftan's theme song, expressing his love for Maximilian Calypse.

"We hope that this OST will bring a special impression to fans who have shown unwavering affection for Under The Oak Tree and we hope you will love Riftan's OST which will come to life through the voice of Cha Eun-woo," RIDI went on.

Meanwhile, AllKpop hinted that the song will be an emotional ballad genre featuring a piano and full orchestra accompaniment.

Aside from singing the OST for, Under The Oak Tree, Cha Eun Woo will also be busy as he has been confirmed as one of the cast members of the upcoming fantasy drama, Island.


The series, which is also based on a webtoon, tells the story of the characters who right evil spirits on Jeju Island. Welcome to Dongmakgol, and Fabricated City director Bae Jong will helm the flick.

Cha Eun Woo will play the role of a Catholic exorcist and priest named John. Despite being noble for protecting other people's lives, he also has a dark past he keeps a secret.

The K-pop idol will be working with Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, and Sung Joon in the series.

Island will serve as his new project following the success of True Beauty, My ID Is Gangnam Beauty, and Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung.
