The US Army has addressed Jonathan Majors' recent controversy as the Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star was arrested following assault allegations. In response, the Army has decided to pull Majors' "Be All You Can Be" advertisements on YouTube.
On Saturday, March 25, Jonathan Majors was arrested on charges of strangulation, assault and harassment. According to TMZ, cops responded to a call for service that evening near the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The alleged victim, who was reported to be Majors' girlfriend, had visible injuries which included a laceration behind the ear, redness and marks on her face and she was immediately taken to an area hospital. The woman is reported to be in stable condition while Majors was taken to jail on the spot.
Since then, the Army has issued a statement in response to Jonathan Majors' arrest (via Twitter). It also confirms that two of the advertisements featuring the Creed III actor have been pulled from YouTube until Majors is cleared of the charges.
“The U.S. Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest,” the statement read. “We recently released two ads in which Mr. Majors appears. While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.”
Jonathan Majors' representatives have denied his involvement in the assault, claiming that "he's done nothing wrong." They then added that they are in preparation for "clearing his name and clearing this up."
As of writing, Jonathan Majors has been released without bail. However, prosecutors have charged the actor with misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault and harassment. He is reportedly due back in court in May. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
