The second season of Netflix's Arcane may be coming out in November, but with Netflix’s Geeked Week, the show didn’t want to leave its fans empty-handed with all the great reveals.
The final episode of Season One had Vi parting ways with Jinx and Caitlyn, and a new clip has been dropped that updates fans on what she’s been up to since Jinx blew up the council of Piltover.
What's Vi Been Up To Since Arcane Season 1?
Just in, Netflix has just dropped a new clip from Arcane Season 2, and it showcases where Vi is at the start of the season, where she’s joined an underground fighting pit. Check this out:
Just like with the first season of the show, the clip alone is a great example of the series' knack for visual storytelling. In less than three minutes, the show was able to establish Vi’s experience as an underground fighter, her descent into alcoholism, and the people that are haunting her i.e., Caitlyn and Jinx.
There are also some shots of a guy with a stocky build who kind of looks like Vander, watching Vi and helping her get up the stairs; and it's revealed in the trailers that he actually joins Vi in Caitlyn’s special squad. It’s possible that he was already a member beforehand scouting Vi, but it’s also possible that he may just be the only person that Vi trusts and that’s how he got into the squad.
Battle for Piltover/Zaun
With the clash between Piltover and the Undercity/Zaun being teased since the first season, Jinx’s actions of killing the council of Piltover will lead to war between the cities. Ambessa, Mel’s mother, looks to be out for blood, and she’s probably going to be using her warlord status at Noxus (essentially this world’s version of Sparta) to exact revenge on the people who killed her daughter.
As for Jinx, she may very well have caused this chaos since the council was about to vote for the independence of Zaun; but now she’s being touted as this hero figure, and the undercity is very much looking at her for leadership in place of Silco.
The End of Arcane
With the show ending after two seasons, some fans think that Riot may be making a mistake with the loss of so many great characters including Jinx and Vi; but it has been said that the series will just be the end of this setting in the League of Legends lore.
Fans should expect more spinoffs with the quality of Arcane to come out, and this time, they’ll be focusing on new locations from LoL, and will also focus on more characters from the hero roster. Fingers crossed some fan-favorites from Arcane will be able to make a cameo in the spinoff shows.
The second and final season of Arcane is set to release in three parts. Act 1 comes out on November 9, Act 2 on November 16, and the final act comes out on November 23 only on Netflix.
