It's been months since Amber Heard lost the multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit Johnny Depp filed against her but the Aquaman actress continues to generate buzz online. These days, the DC star is trying to live a low-profile life in Spain, away from all the controversies that surround her name and according to a new report, she has adopted a new moniker which seems to be a dig at her former husband.

Spanish newspaper Marca reports that Amber has been traveling to Europe under a brand new alias — Martha Jane Canary. The outlet reports that Amber, who is currently in Spain with her daughter Oona Paige and girlfriend Bianca Butti has adopted the name so she "could make travel arrangements without raising any flags about her visit".

In case you were curious as to why she chose the name, Martha Jane Canary or most commonly known as "Calamity Jane" is a real-life person from the wild west era between the mid-1800s to early 1900s who made a name for herself for being a sharpshooter and killer of Native Americans.

Intriguingly, Depp has emphasized in the past that his bloodline lies in the ancient tribes of Native Americans so it would be safe to assume that Amber specifically chose the moniker to hit back at the Hollywood icon.

Now, considering she's one of Hollywood's most controversial figures, it's no longer surprising how the actress would use a different name in an attempt to conceal her identity.

Meanwhile, a film adaptation of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation trial titled Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial is currently streaming on Tubi.
