After dominating the box office worldwide, the sequel to James Wan's Aquaman film is officially coming. Warner Bros. has confirmed the sequel and now the film has a release date.

Borys Kit from The Hollywood Reporter reported that Aquaman 2 has been slated for a December 16, 2022 release date, about four years after the release of the first Aquaman movie.

The film won't be released until late 2022 so DC and Aquaman fans will have to wait four years before it comes out. Although we still don't know if James Wan will return to direct the sequel, the studio has already brought back the filmmaker's frequent collaborator David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick to write the script for the sequel.
