Another Marvel Cinematic Universe hero may be returning in Avengers: Doomsday, and the clues seem to point toward their possible comeback.
The upcoming cinematic crossover will bring numerous Marvel characters together to face the Phase Six villain, Doctor Doom.
With Chris Evans and Tom Hiddleston returning to reprise their roles as Steve Rogers and Loki, it also appears that Iman Vellani will join them as Ms. Marvel.
Will Iman Vellani Return in Avengers: Doomsday
There have been persistent rumors that Iman Vellani will return as Ms. Marvel in Avengers: Doomsday as part of the Young Avengers.
However, while Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has already revealed the actors set to appear in the film (though some names have yet to be announced) in the five-and-a-half-hour casting announcement in March 2025, Vellani is not included in the confirmed lineup.
Despite this, Andy Serkis, who worked with Vellani on Animal Farm, appeared to hint at her involvement in the fifth Avengers film during an interview with Cinema Hub.
“I’m excited to see you in Doomsday,” Serkis said after Vellani told him she was excited for his role in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
“No, you can’t say that!” Vellani quickly responded.
Serkis then clarified, “Well, if there should ever be the chance to see you,” to which Vellani replied, “If there is a chance, like Doomsday, yeah.”
Will Kamala Khan be in Avengers: Doomsday

While Iman Vellani’s appearance in Avengers: Doomsday hasn’t been confirmed, there’s a strong chance her role as Kamala Khan could be featured in the film.
She was last seen in the 2023 movie The Marvels, but her father, Yusuf Khan, recently appeared in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, Episode 6, as an assistant bank manager whom Matt Murdock encounters.
With Yusuf mentioning that he has a daughter named Kamala Khan and that they’re from New Jersey, it seems the MCU is keeping the character in play for a future return.
So when could that happen? There’s a strong possibility it could be in Doomsday, especially after Sir Ian McKellen, who is set to reprise his iconic role as Magneto, seemingly revealed in a Jake’s Takes podcast interview that his character would destroy New Jersey.
The Russo Brothers later told Entertainment Weekly that McKellen “might’ve misspoken,” but Kevin Feige confirmed that “there’s a New Jersey presence” in the film.
Given that Kamala is from Jersey City, it’s highly likely fans could see her again in Doomsday, potentially laying the groundwork for the Young Avengers.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release on December 18, 2026.
