In case you're not familiar, Anne of Green Gables centers on the adventures of an 11-year-old orphan girl named Anne Shirley, who is sent by mistake to two middle-aged siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert on a farm in Canada.
The Answer Studio is the animation studio behind the anime reboot, but the details regarding what they have in store for the new retelling of the novel are still under wraps.
What we can expect is that Anne Shirley will be a brand new take on the classic novel and a contemporary retelling for a new generation of young audiences.

This will not be the first time that Anne of Green Gables was adapted into an anime series. The original version was produced by Nippon Animation in 1979 as part of their World Masterpiece Theater. It consisted of 50 episodes.
When is Anne Shirley Coming Out?
Anne Shirley is currently slated to premiere on NHK Educational TV in April 2025.
