The hit Amazon Prime superhero series The Boys has been picked up for a third season and it's going to feature the live-action adaptation of one of the comic book series' most controversial storylines ever. Season 3 is set to bring the Herogasm story arc to the small screen and to those who have no clue what is all about, prepare to get your minds blown as it's going to center around sex, drugs, and unadulterated violence.

To give you a little rundown, the Herogasm event is a six-issue miniseries that will see our "heroes" take a little break from their everyday superhero duties with sex and drugs sponsored by Vought. In the comics, the week-long party which turns into a massive orgy is covered up by a faked public crisis which will explain their sudden disappearance.

Now, the official Twitter handle of the Amazon Prime show is reminding fans that the Herogasm event is indeed taking place in Season 3, and in case you're concerned if they'll be able to pull it off, you need not worry. Check out the tweet below:

One of the storyline's infamous panels features Homelander having sex with Soldier Boy and it's quite unsettling. Now, considering the fact that Jensen Ackles has been tapped to play the latter, could we be seeing this controversial scene go down in the third season? Anyway, The Boys continues to push the envelope and set the bar high for r-rated superhero shows and films and it doesn't come as a shock anymore how fans have always been behind the series.

The third season of The Boys will arrive in 2021.
