Amanda Seyfried called out the Hollywood movie industry for the recent trend of producing a lot of sequels.
As we've seen for the last several years, sequels have become more common in Hollywood due to the perceived huge box office potential. Some of the classics from the 80s and 90s have also been revisited with the original stars returning to reprise their roles from decades ago.
What Does Amanda Seyfried Think of the Recent Hollywood Sequel Trend?

Speaking with Superman star Rachel Brosnahan in a discussion for Interview magazine, Seyfried lamented Hollywood's current addiction to sequels.
The topic came up when they noted the three major tentpole films that are releasing in theaters this July, including Superman.
"We have Jurassic Park [Jurassic World Rebirth], Superman, and Fantastic Four. What’s our Barbenheimer between Fantastic Four, Jurassic Park, and Superman? The people need you. Supertastic Park?" Brosnahan asked.
Seyfried responded, "It’s Fantastic Super-park. It’s Four Superparks. Four Dinosaurs. Four Super Dinosaurs. I don’t know!"
She went on to express her frustration over Hollywood's current trend of making a lot of sequels. However, she is also open to doing Mamma Mia 3.
"I will say, there’s a little bit of fatigue with sequels. I want original content. I think it’s really scary and brave to do it. It’s not scary and not very brave to do sequels. It’s just for money, and it’s frustrating. Then again, I’d do Mamma Mia 3 in a heartbeat," Seyfried said.
Is Amanda Seyfried Starring in a Sequel Anytime Soon?
Aside from the aforementioned Mamma Mia 3, which is currently in development, Seyfried is also open to doing a sequel to another beloved film she starred in.
Earlier this month, she told Adam Brody that she is interested in reprising her role in a potential Jennifer's Body sequel.
"I’m not doing it without [Megan Fox]," she said.
Seyfried is also part of the main voice cast for the Ted animated series sequel that is currently in the works at Peacock. She is reprising her role alongside Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane.
