The 36-year-old started as a child actress on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy series All That from 1996 to 2000.

She had her breakthrough in its spinoff series, The Amanda Show, airing from 1999 to 2002. In her mid-teen years, she joined The WB sitcom What I Like About You from 2002 to 2006, while her debut movie came in the 2002 Big Fat Liar.

However, as she ages, she has struggled with substance abuse and faced a number of legal problems.

She went on an indefinite hiatus from acting in 2010, and after eight years, she expressed her interest in returning to acting.

At the peak of Bynes' career, she earned between $2 and $3 million annually. However, that number has dramatically decreased over time.

Bynes is reportedly placed on a 72-house psychiatric hold, a source close to the situation told NBC News, via E! News.

"She hasn't been in contact with her family for quite some time," the insider revealed.

Her lawyer has yet to comment on the issue.

Bynes was supposed to make an appearance at '90s Con in Connecticut over the weekend, along with her former All That castmates, but didn't make it to the event.

Over the years, she has been open about her struggles with drug abuse, affecting her mental health.

"Truly, for me, [my behavior] was drug-induced, and whenever I got off of [drugs], I was always back to normal," she told Paper in 2018 about how she abused drugs, like ecstasy and Adderall, before getting sober. "I actually am a nice person. I would never feel, say or do any of the things that I did and said to the people I hurt on Twitter."

Bynes also admitted that she was really "ashamed and embarrassed" by her past behavior.

"I have no fear of the future," she continued. "I've been through the worst and came out the other end and survived it, so I just feel like it's only up from here."
