Alt-Right Author Gets Schooled After Asking What Stan Lee Would Think Of The MCU’s Direction

For the past two years, Marvel has been making a move to add more diversity and representation in its films, and while most Marvel fans appreciate the gesture, alt-right individuals like Jack Posobiec aren't entirely happy with the studio's current direction.

Taking to social media, Posobiec asked netizens what they think Stan Lee would have felt if he had been able to see what Marvel has turned the MCU into. The author didn't get the response that he was hoping for, Marvel fans came in to defend the studio against the tweet, shaming Posobeic on social media. Though he didn't really say it outright, the tweet was seen as an attack against Captain Marvel, Brie Larson's first standalone movie as the MCU's strongest Avenger.

Netizens were quick to point out that Lee was very much aware of what kind of direction the MCU was taking – after all, the Marvel Comic Book legend did make cameo appearances throughout the many films in the franchise, even in Captain Marvel. Not only that, but Posobeic seems to have forgotten that Lee's always been an advocate of diversity and inclusion. Time and time again Lee spoke of diversity and inclusion in comics. In fact, the X-Men were supposed to be commentary on those two things.

Right now, Captain Marvel is doing exceptionally well at the box office. The film made more than $400 million at the global box office during its opening weekend, and it's currently sitting on $500 million thanks to its strong numbers in China.

Captain Marvel is currently screening in cinemas.
