While there's an abundance of K-Dramas available to watch, sci-fi films are a dime a dozen. Despite this, they managed to create really interesting sci-fi shows and films. One such example is Alienoid: Part 2, which has recently gotten a release date announcement.
If you watched the first Alienoid movie when it came out last year, you may already be looking forward to its return. The good news is that the film was already released.
Here's what we know about this South Korean movie.
When is Alienoid: Part 2 Coming Out?
The first Alienoid movie came out on July 20, 2022. After its release, it was no surprise that a second part was ordered right away.
Alienoid: Part 2 made its way to theaters on January 10, 2024.
Who Stars in Alienoid: Part 2?
The actors who will be returning in Alienoid: Part 2 include the following:
- Kim Tae-ri as Yi An
- Ryu Jun-yeol as Mureuk
- Kim Woo-bin as Guard/Thunder
- Yum Jung-ah as Heuk-seol
- Jo Woo-jin as Cheong-woon
- Kim Eui-sung as Ja-jang
So far, the cast members who are joining the second part of the show include:
- Jin Sun-kyu as Neung-pa
- Lim Hanee as Min Gae-in
Who is Behind Alienoid: Part 2 Production?
Alienoid: Part 2 was written and directed by Choi Dong-hoon. He was also responsible for the first movie.
His other films include The Thieves, Jeon Woo Chi, and Assassination.
The movie is being produced by Caper Film.
What is Alienoid: Part 2 Story About?
Alienoid: Part 2 continues on where the story ended. As seen in the poster for the film, a tagline reads: "We must go back. To protect everyone."
The poster shows Mureuk (played by Ryu Jun-yeol), Thunder (played by Kim Woo-bin), and Lee Ahn (played by Kim Tae-ri) as they prepare to face a new enemy in the form of a toxic alien atmosphere known as "Hava."
A trailer for the film also shows what to expect from Alienoid: Part 2. In the trailer, we see that Lee Ahn has traveled in time to retrieve the Divine Sword.
She is joined by Heuk-seol (played by Yum Jung-ah) and Cheong-woon (played by Jo Woo-jin) as they try to stop the Hava explosion.
Meanwhile, Thunder's return hints at a time portal from the future. There's also something going on within Mureuk's own body.
