Agatha: Coven of Chaos Adds Heartstopper Star Joe Locke in Mystery Role

The huge success of WandaVision last year has led Marvel to develop a spinoff series centering on Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness titled Agatha: Coven of Chaos. As the project is set to begin production soon, it looks like we finally have our first major casting news as they have recruited its first new cast member.

Variety has confirmed that Heartstopper star Joe Locke is joining the cast of Agatha: Coven of Chaos. As usual, the details regarding the role that he will be playing in the series are being kept under wraps at the moment.

Locke is the first new MCU cast member to be recruited in the series. Besides Hahn, Emma Caulfield Ford is also already confirmed to reprise her role from WandaVision. Jac Schaefer is also returning to serve as the head writer just like in the parent series.

The Heartstopper actor's casting in the MCU comes as the Netflix series became a major hit in the streamer when it was released this year and was renewed for two more seasons right after its debut. In the series, he plays Charlie Spring, the main character who falls in love with his classmate played by Kit Connor.

It is exciting to hear that Locke has been cast in the series after he became a breakout star in Heartstopper and this is certainly another major step for his casting career as he is set to become one of the rising stars in Hollywood today.

This is one of the two WandaVision spinoff series that is currently in the works at Marvel Studios. It was recently revealed that they're also working on a Vision-centric series titled Vision Quest that is opening its writer's room this week. Schaefer is also set to serve as the head writer for that project.
