Ahead of the premiere of Agatha All Along, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige may have just hinted to fans that there is no season 2 to look forward to. Here's what he recently said about the Kathryn Hahn-led show.
Marvel Studios President Hints Agatha All Along is a 'Stand-Alone' Series
If it hadn't been for the success of WandaVision, the Agatha spin-off wouldn't have come to fruition. However, Kathryn Hahn's charming take on the harbinger of darkness, Agatha Harkness, blew fans away even before unveiling the witch's true identity.
Thanks to her single theme song, Marvel came up with the idea of claiming the title for her own spin-off.
However, before its premiere on Disney Plus, fans must manage their expectations for hopes of season 2.
According to Marvel's big boss Kevin Feige (via Emmy Magazine), the Agatha spin-off "makes for a good stand-alone series", as though to imply that the story of the harbinger only fits within nine episodes.
"The direct and appropriate answer as to why Agatha makes for a good stand-alone series is Kathryn [Hahn]," Feige explained, adding how great of a comedian and dramatic actress she is, "So, she really is tied up in the development of the character."
As the official trailer unveiled, we'll be following Hahn as she navigates the real world once she regains her freedom, thanks to the help of a teenager.
Agatha All Along would explore the mysterious witches' coven and the potential death of Wanda Maximoff during her absence post-WandaVision.
"We knew the character was making an impression on the audience," Feige later added in the same interview; that it took a long time before showrunner Jac Schaeffer could "turn it into the show we have now."
Despite Feige's words, Hahn had only "thought of herself as a Marvel visitor" rather than a character who could lead her own show.
Although, the actress-comedian added it was "very profound" to have played "this incredible crone at her age", "To be able to just fall into it felt dangerous and powerful."
