In a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Adam Driver revealed the character that he is playing in Heat 2, which is set to begin production soon.
He shared that he would be playing the role of Otis Wardell, the main villain. In case you have not read the novel, he is the psychopathic leader of a home invasion gang in the late '80s timeline.
The actor joked that he was not sure whether he was allowed to reveal his character. "I think I can say that, but I'll find out pretty soon [if I can't]," he said.
Nevertheless, Driver expressed his excitement to collaborate with director Michael Mann again after the 2023 film Ferrari.
"Heat is a masterpiece. I love Michael, I loved working with him [on] Ferrari, but working on this? I'm excited. The cast is so awesome," he told the host.
Driver also commented on Mann's recent injury when he accidentally shot himself in the leg at a Los Angeles gun range. He insisted that it has not impacted the project's production schedule.
"No, [the delay] was already part of the plan. [Mann] is good. I texted him, he immediately responded, [and] he was at work the next day," he said.

The film will be based on the 2022 novel co-written by Michael Mann and Meg Gardiner. Mann is also directing the sequel.
