  1. Michelle Fairly as Mrs Granger

She's widely known for her Game of Thrones role as Catelyn Stark but have you noticed that Michelle Fairley briefly appeared in Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows Part 1 as Hermione's mother?

Mrs Granger only has a short scene in which Hermione erases her parents' memories of her so that they aren't implicated in her search for the deathly hallows.

Since Fairley appeared in only one scene, some fans missed her the first time.

  2. Jamie Campbell Bower as Gellert Grindelwald

We've seen him in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd as Anthony and the 2013 City of Bones movie as Jace Wayland but Jamie Campbell Bower also had a short scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as Gellert Grindelwald.

Since this is just a brief flashback scene, the actor is easy to miss him amid the chaos.

However, the actor later went on to reprise his role in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. This makes him the only actor to appear in both franchises.

  3. Alfred Enoch as Dean Thomas

Alfred Enoch isn't as obscure as other actors in this list as he appeared in all Harry Potter movies as Dean Thomas.

However, Enoch is one of the Harry Potter actors people don't immediately associate with the franchise as he went on to perform in much bigger roles including Wesley "Wes" Gibbins in How to Get Away With Murder.

  4. Regé-Jean Page as a Wedding Guest

Regé-Jean Page is one of those blink-and-you-ll-miss-it Harry Potter appearances.

The actor is now well-known for his role as the duke Simon Basset in the Bridgerton TV series.

He briefly appeared as an unnamed guest in Bill and Fleur's wedding during Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

  5. Rhys Ifans as Xenophilius Lovegood

Rhys Ifans appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as Xenophilius Lovegood, Luna's father.

The actor's appearance in the Harry Potter movies might make it hard to recognize him as Dr. Curt Connors from the Spider-man franchise.

More recently, he has appeared in House of the Dragon as the scheming Ser Otto Hightower.

  6. Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Young Tom Riddle

Did you know that the actor who portrayed 11-year-old Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is actually related to Voldemort actor Ralph Fiennes?

Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who is Ralph Fiennes' nephew, went on several TV shows, movies, and audiobooks.

His filmography includes one of the leading roles in the romance film After Everything.

  7. John Cleece as Nearly Headless Nick

John Cleese, who appeared in the Harry Potter films as the ghost Nearly Headless Nick looked unrecognizable under the ghost effect but he's a famous comedian and actor you've probably seen elsewhere.

He's a co-founder of Monty Python who has appeared in Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Life of Brian (1979), The Meaning of Life (1983) and, of course, the company's flying circus sketch.

  8. Luke Youngblood as Lee Jordan

Lee Jordan is a friend of the Wesley twins and he's infamous for his non-objective Quiddich commentary.

Did you know that the actor went on to portray Magnitude, a recurring Community character?

He has also appeared in Gallavant as Sid, one of the main characters.

  9. Dani Harmer as a Hogwarts Student

You probably know Dani Harmer for the leading role of CBBC's Tracy Beaker series, itself based on the successful Tracy Beaker series by children's author Jaqueline Wilson.

But did you know that she also appeared in Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone as a Grynffindor student?

She can be seen clapping alongside Fred and George Wesley when Harry gets into Gryffindor.

  10. Bill Nighy as Rufus Scrimgeour

Bill Nighy appered in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 as the feeble minister of magic, Rufus Scrimgeour who replaced Cornelius Fudge.

But this is far from Nighy's most well-known role. The award winning actor has appeared in Pirates of the Carribean as Davie Jones.

He has also appered in Living (2022) and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
