There is little doubt that fans are curious about what happened to Abomination after the villain's not-so-surprise return in Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. Luckily, it looks like we are going to find out very soon. Director Destin Daniel Cretton confirms that Emil Blonsky's fate will be revealed right away.
In Shang-Chi, Abomination is featured as one of the fighters in Xialing's underground fight club in Macau. We already know this because we saw him fighting Wong in the film's trailer. Interestingly, it is later revealed that Emil and Wong seem to be good friends and at one point, they leave together through one of the monk's portals.
So where exactly did Wong take Abomination? Fans have been wondering about the two, leading to several theories like they simply had a meal together or the villain was sent to a new place for a bigger fight. Either way, people believe this means the character will be playing a larger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.
But when can we find out what happened to Abomination? Cretton has teased that the villain's fate after the events in Shang-Chi will be revealed soon.
"Yeah. I can say that you will find out very soon," Cretton said during the Phase Zeropodcast. He then added that Abomination's fate happened for a reason.
"I mean, I can also say that the decisions of everything that people are speculating about were big discussions, and they are there for a reason that I think will be revealed fairly soon, I think," Cretton said.
This is a great update considering that fans are already expecting to see Abomination in the She-Hulk series. But is it possible that Tim Roth's character will be back much sooner? Some fans are convinced that Blonsky could have an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.
Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings is now screening in theaters.
