Aaron Carter’s cause of death is finally revealed. Five months after his unexpected passing, the rapper’s manner of death is said to be “accidental.”

Many were surprised when the news broke that Carter died on November 5, 2022, about a month before his 35th birthday. He was 34.

The Cause of Aaron Carter’s Death

In the copy of the singer’s autopsy, as obtained by Page Six, he reportedly died of drowning, and the effects of difluoroethane, a flammable gas often used as compressed air in can fuel, and alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report confirmed the musician was “submerged” in his bathtub after inhaling compressed gas and taking alprazolam.

The National Library of Medicine described difluoroethane as a “colorless, odorless gas” that can cause “frostbite” and is “easily ignited.”

Medical experts, alternatively, related alprazolam as a medication that can be in a tablet form and is sometimes used to treat depression and open spaces fear.

Aaron Carter Found Dead

Carter was found dead in his bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California. His autopsy report noted he was already unresponsive when seen and had no “life-threatening traumatic injuries.”

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The family has been notified and will be flying out to Los Angeles,” a rep told Page Six. “Aaron worked very hard towards the end of his life in recovery to be a good father and to make amends with his family,”

Aaron Carter’s Mom, Friends Suspect Foul Play

The “I Want Candy” hitmaker’s mom, Jane Carter, strongly disbelieved that her son died of an accidental overdose and wanted a “real investigation” into her child’s death, suspecting foul play.

“They never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past,” she wrote in a post on Facebook in March on Facebook, along with some photos of the death scene.

Carter’s friends also told Page Six that they were suspicious of the events surrounding their late pal’s surprising demise.

“He would always be paranoid about people being after him or [that] somebody is after him,” Bryan Cassidy, who was close with Carter for the last three years of his life,” stated.

In addition, his former manager Morgan Matthews recalled the one time his talent told him there were people after him and he needed help and to leave this town.
