Aaron Carter had a troubled life. However, according to a new report, it was his father's death that threw him.

Aaron Carter Was Greatly Affected By Dad, Sister's Passing?

Nick Carter's brother passed away Saturday. He was found unresponsive in a bathtub.

An insider told Radar Online that Aaron Carter "never really dealt with a lot of trauma he had."

His sister Leslie passed away from an overdose of prescription drugs in January 2012. Aaron was rocked again when their father died in 2017 from an apparent heart attack. He was 65.

Both deaths had reportedly affected the I Want Candy singer.

"He was really torn up when Leslie died, but it was Bob's death that really threw him," sources close to the singer told d People.

"[Aaron] had such a dysfunctional relationship with both parents, but something about losing his dad really threw him. That's when I saw him really start to spiral," the insider added. "He had gotten in trouble before, but he went from a partier to something a lot more dark then. It was like he gave up."

To make things worse, the insider claimed that "He had no one he could trust, and no one trusted him."

The tipster added that it was "painful to see" Aaron making the choices he made before he passed away.

Aaron Carter's Cause Of Death Revealed?

Aaron was found unresponsive in his bathtub at home. Authorities have yet to provide a possible cause of death, but according to TMZ, investigators would be looking into his drug use.

In 2017, he was arrested in Georgia under suspicion of driving under the influence and marijuana possession. Two years later, he disclosed that he was diagnosed with both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

His long-time friend Gary Madatyan told Entertainment Tonight that he might have fallen asleep while in the bathtub.

"I personally think he was on medication and had fallen asleep in a bathtub...  I think it's a tragic accident, because he loved life. He had so many plans. Even though he had mental issues, addiction, he loved life," Madatyan told ET.

Aaron Carter Made Peace With Brother Nick Carter Before His Death

It's not a secret that Aaron had a complicated relationship with his family, including his big brother, Nick Carter. However, according to his rep, the two singers "finally in a good place" before his untimely death.

"[Aaron] was on the path to making amends with so many people in his life, and he had made amends and made peace with Nick," the rep told Hollywood Life Monday.

"Aaron was happy about this because he loved his brother," the rep continued. "He looked up to Nick in so many ways. They were trying to make everything good again."
