A Song from Lion King 2 is Included in the Soundtrack of the Remake

We already know that Jon Favreau's The Lion King is going to be keeping the musical element of the original movie, with songs like Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Hakuna Matata, and Be Prepared to make a comeback. What we didn't know though, is that the movie will also feature an original song that was in the direct-to-video sequel, Lion King 2: Simba's Pride.

In the full list of songs for the soundtrack of The Lion King, you can see that He Lives in You is in the tracklist. In Simba's Pride, the song was actually in the opening and kind of mirrors the intro of the original movie:

We don't really know what the song's inclusion could mean, but the movie could end with a teaser for a sequel. With the song listed toward the end, I can imagine it will take place at some point in the closing of the movie, or maybe even just over the credits. Do you think an after-credits scene would happen?

If Disney does end up making a sequel (which they likely will), I think they don't have to follow exactly what happens in The Lion King II. I guess they can borrow some elements from that film; I mean, the songs were great for the most part, and I kind of liked the duet Love Will Find a Way.

After the success of Aladdin, fans are waiting to see if The Lion King will manage to keep up the hype. Catch the movie in theaters July 19.
