2025 is coming to a close soon, but we're not ending the year without a new list of movies set to premiere in 2026.
There are a couple of returning sequels, but the new year will also hold some thrilling genres worth exploring on the big screens!
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple — January 16, 2026
Following the events of the 2025 sequel, 28 Years Later, The Bone Temple is set decades after Cillian Murphy's original 2002 horror film. The Marvels director Nia DaCosta helmed this project, with Murphy taking the backseat as a producer for the film this time.
The Bone Temple will also be seeing actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and potentially Murphy's rumored cameo to bring back the magic that sparked the franchise.
Wuthering Heights — February 13, 2026
Based on the novel of the same name written by Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights gets a premiere adaptation featuring iconic stars, Saltburn's Jacob Elordi and Barbie's Margot Robbie, who is also a producer on the film.
Don't mistake the Valentine's Day release of Wuthering Heights as a love story, as the film showcases the tumultuous relationship between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, the orphan her father brought home as a young boy.
GOAT — February 13, 2026
If Wuthering Heights is not your cup of tea, we've got an alternative.
GOAT is an underdog sports animated comedy by Sony Animation (Spider-Verse, KPOP Demon Hunters), whose leading character is voiced by the Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry, the four-time NBA champion, who is partnered up with Emmy-nominated director Tyree Dillihay and director Adam Rosette.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie — April 3, 2026
After successfully defending the Mushroom Kingdom, the Mario brothers are heading off to space!
As a direct sequel, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie brings back the iconic brothers to stop Bowser Jr. from saving his father, all while facing new threats in the galaxy. Inspired by the original video game, we'll also be seeing Princess Rosalina, the cosmic-waving princess who will help them on this quest.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come — April 10, 2026
Similar to the Super Mario Bros. sequel, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come will continue the story of Grace, the bride who survived the deadly game in the first film. While there's no official premise yet, the latest teaser trailer unveiled the anticipated hiders and seekers joining the next game.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Lisa Frankenstein star Kathryn Newton will play a character named Faith, who will likely seem to play this game side-by-side with Grace while being chained at the wrist.
The teaser trailer also introduces (presumably) members of the new family who will be doing the "seeking", played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, David Cronenberg, and Elijah Wood.
Michael — April 24, 2026
Moonwalk into theaters to witness Antoine Fuqua's Michael, in which the music legend Michael Jackson's biopic details the life of a man with personal woes that came along with the global success of the late Thriller hitmaker.
Michael also happens to star Jaafar Jackson, aka Michael's real-life nephew, who will portray him in his younger years as he navigates Hollywood.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 — May 1, 2026
Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs are set to return in The Devil Wears Prada 2, with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway reprising their roles from the 2006 comedy.
Based on the novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, the film will be directed by the original helmer, David Frankel, with co-stars Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, coming back to the big screens!
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu — May 22, 2026
The Mandalorian and Grogu had long been anticipated, especially since the series seemingly wrapped things up by the third season. This standalone film returns the Star Wars franchise to theaters for the first time since J.J. Abrams' The Rise of Skywalker.
Pedro Pascal will reprise his titular role as Din Djarin alongside the adorable little green force-wielder, Grogu. Jeremy Allen White also stars in the film as Rotta the Hutt, the son of Jabba, and Sigourney Weaver in an undisclosed role.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day — July 31, 2026
Tom Holland is set to reprise his titular role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Peter Parker takes on a new adventure in college, specifically, after everyone had forgotten his existence.
Still, that crisis doesn't leave him safe as mysterious forces threaten the city, forcing him to confront past enemies with a redefining moment of what it means to be a hero.
