Watch: Deleted Concepts and Script Changes for Black Panther

Black Panther is coming out to be one of the most successful Marvel films of all time, and just like any other film, it went through some rejected concepts and script changes. Mr. Sunday Movies, as always, has delved into all of them and wrapped them all up in one video.

Check it out:

Concept art had revealed that Shuri was supposed to don her own Black Panther outfit, as she also took the title in the comics. We also find out that the exposition in the beginning of the movie was a late addition, seeing that some confusion was coming from test audiences about how Wakanda came to be.

Director Ryan Coogler was also said to have toyed with the concept of having Bucky included in the movie, but seeing as he would be a white assassin killing off Wakandan people, they decided it was best that he was just saved for the last part. Besides, it would probably be more dramatic that the fight was Wakandan versus Wakandan.

It was also considered that the UN scene would be the last part of the movie, but having T’Challa come back to Killmonger’s hometown was decided as the more emotional ending.

There’s also a bunch more that I can’t discuss here, but that’s what the video is for.

Black Panther is now out in theaters, and could come out as one of the most successful movies of the year.
