Pokemon: The First Movie Gets an Honest Trailer

Detective Pikachu is set to come out next week, and Screen Junkies has decided it’s the perfect time to go back and give an Honest Trailer take to Pokemon: The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back.

Before you pay to see Detective Pikachu, revisit a film that used to delight your inner child and now just embarrasses your outer adult - it's Honest Trailers for Pokemon: The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back

Admittedly, the trailer has a lot of points when it comes to the silliness of the film, especially with the film saying Pokemon shouldn’t fight when the anime is literally about all the Pokemon fighting. It’s also funny how they pointed out that a lot of the characters go “huh” in the film—now it’s something you can’t unsee.

Though the movie isn’t that good, I’m sure it still holds a place in every Poke-fan who watched it in the 90s. Mewtwo is still considered one of the greater villains in the franchise, and a lot of people are excited for his turn in live-action with the Detective Pikachu movie.

While Avengers: Endgame is still dominating, hopefully Detective Pikachu manages to get a decent opening in the box office next week. I’m sure a lot of fans are hyped for the film, and if it’s any consolation, reviews have been great for the movie.

Catch Detective Pikachu when it hits theaters May 10.
