Yuri!!! on Ice Will Have Another Anime Film

If you haven't had enough of last year's sleeper anime hit of the season, then you're in for a treat. Yuri!!! on Ice is getting another run, this time as a feature anime film.

According to Crunchyroll, the film was announced at the Maihama Amphitheater for the Yurii!! On Stage event. Alongside the announcement, the cast of the production also got a mini get-together at the event.

There are no details yet on the story or any timelines for the feature film. However, the good news is fans don't have to worry about remakes of the anime's run, so it's bound to be a new story. In another interview, creator Sayo Yamamoto had stated that the story of Yuri!!! on Ice was already played out over those 12 episodes in the anime. However, it was hinted that it was far from over.

Does that mean we'll get to see more about the life of the three main characters, Yuri, Yurio, and Victor? After all, the story of the main pair has just begun in the anime. But if there's one request I would want fulfilled, it's that they still include figure skating in the film—because the animation of Yuri!!! on Ice was one of the things that had me sold.

For now, let this nice visual teased by the official Yuri!!! on Ice Twitter get you hyped up until we get more news.

For those who want to see the event, best to wait out when Yuri!!! on Ice is released on Blu-ray and DVD on July 28, as the event will be included in the home release.
