The search for an actor to play the young Han Solo in the stand-alone Star Wars film has been narrrowed to one. Deadline reports that Alden Ehrenreich has emerged as the front-runner for the coveted role.
After screen tests, the field of possible actors shrouded in secrecy was narrowed down to a only a few actors that included Jack Reynor and Taron Egerton. However, according to the report, Ehrenreich did an impressive performance that puts him on top.
The 26-year-old actor had an unforgettable performance in this year's Hail, Caesar!.He also starred in Park Chan-wook's Stoker and Richard LaGravenese's Beautiful Creatures.
The stand-alone Han Solo Star Wars film is set to release on May 25, 2018, and will be directed by The LEGO Movie's Chris Miller and Phil Lord.
