Star Wars Finally Reveals The Chosen One Prophecy’s Actually Words

Fatalism has been a big part of the Star Wars franchise especially when Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace introduced the Chosen One prophecy that was used to explain Anakin Skywalker's significance in the galaxy. After meeting the boy on Tatooine, Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn believed that Anakin was actually the Chosen One the prophecy said would bring balance to the Force.

While the prophecy was continually mentioned from time to time throughout all three films of the Star Wars prequel trilogy, fans never got to learn what it actually read.

Now, thanks to the new Star Wars book Master and Apprentice (via Screen Rant), fans get to learn what the prophecy actually said about the chosen one. The book written by Claudia Grey takes place several years before The Phantom Menace and explores Qui-Gon Jin's fascination with the prophecies of the Jedi. While several prophecies do appear in Master and the Apprentice, this one will sound all too familiar to the Star Wars fanbase:

"A Chosen One shall come, born of no father, and through him will ultimate balance in the Force be restored."

The prophecy might only be a single sentence, but it's pretty clear why Qui-Gon just couldn't let Anakin go. The young Force user ticked all the boxes. In The Phantom Menace, we learn that Anakin doesn't have any father and that he is strong with the Force (thanks to his midi-chlorian count).

According to Qui-Gon, running into Anakin was "the will of the Force."

The next Star Wars movie, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, premieres December 20, 2019.
