Lucasfilm might be trying its best to keep Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's secrets under lock and key until the film finally makes its way to cinemas this December, but somehow spoilers and leaks continue to circulate online.
Last week there was a massive leak focusing on The Rise of Skywalker's climactic showdown between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). This week, a new leak suggests that Rey is going to have an amazing new weapon in her final battle against the Dark Side – a lightsaber that Leia actually used during her training with Luke at the Jedi temple.
According to the Redditor u/JediPaxis, a source of credible leaks and moderator of the StarWarsLeaks subreddit, Rey will learn that she's actually Palpatine's granddaughter in Episode IX. Fearing the truth of her origin, Rey decides to "follow the example set by Luke and exile herself on the island where the Jedi began."
When she arrives in Ahch-To, Rey throws away her blue Skywalker lightsaber much like Luke did in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, the Force Ghost of Luke grabs the weapon before it gets lost in the sea, and he encourages Rey not to give up.
"Leia saw the potential within her and hoped that Rey would be able to restore balance to the Force once more just as Anakin did," JediPaxis writes in the post.
On Ahch-To, Rey receives Luke's X-wing fighter as well as Leia's lightsaber, the one she used in training. The post doesn't really reveal the color of the weapon, however, there are rumors that it will have the same color as her bothers. The leaks say that Rey will use both Lea and Luke's lightsabers simultaneously, one in each hand during her battle with Palpatine.
