Natalie Portman Reportedly Reprising Role As Star Wars’ Padme Amidala

The Skywalker saga may have come to an end last year with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, however, fans will still be able to revisit certain parts of the saga thanks to Lucasfilm's Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi and Cassian Andor.

While there isn't that much information about what Lucasfilm has planned for Obi-Wan Kenobi, there are rumors circulating online saying that Natalie Portman may appear in the highly-anticipated Star Wars series.

According to a report by Inside The Magic, Lucasfilm is looking for another fan-favorite Star Wars actor to appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Padme Amidala star Natalie Portman may be that very person. Sure, it might seem unlikely for Padme to return considering her death in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, however, Disney may want Portman to return for a short flashback cameo in the series.

Perhaps Lucasfilm could feature scenes where Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) tries to remember the time that he spent together with Anakin and with Padme Amidala. It isn't entirely impossible – after all, Obi-Wan will be left to find homes for Padme's children, Luke and Leia.

Of course, as with any rumor, we advise fans to take the report with a grain of salt. We'll have to wait for a confirmation from Lucasfilm or from Portman before believing anything.

Right now, the only thing that's been confirmed about Obi-Wan is that the series will take place between The Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope. Hopefully Lucasfilm will offer more information as we approach the series' beginning of production.

Obi-Wan Kenobi has yet to receive a release date but we'll update fans as soon as we get word.
