Star Wars Battlefront II Devs Say Fan Petition Won't Do Much

After 2 years since launch, DICE has managed to salvage Star Wars Battlefront II and have turned it into one of the best Star Wars games today. The announcement of the last update has actually left a lot of fans distressed and there has been a petition going around to have EA continue support for the game as paid DLC. Too bad though, because it looks like this is one thing petitions can't fix.

When linked to the online petition to have Battlefront II continue with paid content, ex-community manager Ben Walke replied:

We don't really know the specifics of what's going on behind the scenes, but we do know that the development team for DICE has been called to work on the next Battlefield game. While we are expecting one last patch for Battlefront II, we shouldn't expect any more big updates like new game modes of playable characters.

Even if the petitions won't do anything to bring the developers back, I think there's still something to be learned from the number of people who've signed it. For one, we get an idea of how much enthusiasm there is from the community, and this will probably gauge EA's interest in greenlighting a third Battlefront game. Of course, we shouldn't expect it for the next five years, seeing that development is currently ongoing for other Star Wars titles—one specific entry bring the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

For now, you can enjoy Star Wars Battlefront II now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
