Mark Hamill Rumored To Play Rocket Racoon’s Creator In James Gunn’s GOTG 3

Last year, Star Wars legend Mark Hamill revealed that he had unofficially met with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn for a little get-together. The two had been California neighbours for so long that it was crazy that the two only recently met each other for Memorial Day barbecue. Of course, fans were quick to jump to speculation after seeing pictures of the two together, wondering whether Hamill would make an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Gunn hinted that he could ask the Star Wars actor about the matter, and now that the director is back as the director of GOTG3, fans are wondering whether the possibility of Hamill's cameo is back on.

According to a rumor posted by a Spanish MCU fan account (via We Got This Covered), Hamill may be set to play a role in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, this time as the creator behind Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper).

Though fans have to be warned to take this report with a heavy grain of salt, Gunn did previously say that he'd love to explore the back story behind everyone's favorite trash panda in the third entry of his Guardians of the Galaxy series. The director's been adamant about that ever since 2017.

For those who aren't familiar with Rocket's story, the racoon actually comes from the planet Halworld, a global asylum for those who are mentally ill. There, animal companions are genetically altered to give them human intelligence so that they could serve as the planet's guards. The same origin is being followed in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Rocket is set to return in Avengers: Endgame which premieres on April 26, 2019.
