Star Wars: Battlefront II Devs Say Game is 'Far from Done', No Current Plans for Battlefront III

It's no mystery that Star Wars Battlefront II did not get off on the good start. After what was considered one of the most disastrous launches in gaming history, the game had limped on for a year, trying to fix itself and get over a bad rep. Now there are rumors going around that the studio is planning on dropping this game soon in favor of a Battlefront III, but the devs themselves confirm there are no such plans as of now.

This was the dev response posted on the official Battlefront II subreddit:

Battlefront II is "far from done"

While the game certainly did take a while , the live service that's been promised has finally arrived. Last month we got the release of Anakin Skywalker, and today saw the dropping of a new game mode complete with two new reinforcements. We don't have any news yet on what comes to the game for the rest of the year, but some people are happy to see the devs finally keeping to their word.

Admittedly, Battlefront II is still trying to get over its disastrous launch from 2017. Even with all the improvements that have come to the game, there are admittedly still a lot of fixes needed. Hopefully with enough time, all of them will be addressed eventually. Maybe the game just needs another big launch event with some new Episode IX content—if they ever plan to bring those the game that is.

For now, you can play Star Wars Battlefront II on the PS4, Xbox One, or PC.
