Tickets To Star Wars: The Last Jedi Accidentally Went On Sale Earlier Today

It looks like some lucky Star Wars fans got to buy tickets to Star Wars: The Last Jedi ahead of the official ticket sale opening today.

While most fans are still patiently waiting for the official start of ticket sales to Lucasfilm's upcoming sequel trilogy installment, Comicbook reports that a small mistake by Showcase Cinemas has allowed users of their mobile app to buy the tickets to The Force Awakens sequel ahead of its official ticket sale opening after the film's trailer debuts during the Monday Night Football halftime later this evening.

Though the company has rectified the error and suspended ticket sales, Showcase Cinemas has not given any word if they will cancel and refund the tickets that were bought through the app, or honor the purchase customers made earlier today.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, so it stands to reason that tickets to the upcoming sequel trilogy installment would sell like hotcakes once ticket sales start later this evening. Almost everyone wants to make sure that they secure a seat to the film's premiere and it's very likely that websites are going to flood once ticket sale begins.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres December 15, 2017.
