Ryan Reynolds Says Logan Could "Break the Glass Ceiling" For Superhero Films


Logan is trying to be a different kind of X-Men film - R-rated, and based on what we've seen in the trailer, it's going to be more emotional and more character-driven. There's a TheLast of Us feel to it.

Now, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds talked to Variety about the possibility of Best Picture nominations for superhero films, and he said that, "Logan looks like a movie that might break that glass ceiling. I know first-hand that it's amazing. I've seen some of it. It's mind-blowing. It relies a lot on character."

"When I hosted the Oscars, [The Dark Knight] didn't get nominated, and everyone was talking about it," Jackman told Variety. "It's a stretch to say these are injustices in life — we are happy and making movies. But I love it when someone like Ryan gets recognized. These big-budget or comic book movies are not easy to pull off."

Ryan Reynolds is currently going for an Oscar for his role on Deadpool, Logan star Hugh Jackman is pushing for Deadpool to get a nod.
