Ryan Reynolds Wants Deadpool to Get a Boyfriend, Talks Sequel Budget

Ryan Reynolds has big things to say about Deadpool 2, Varietyreports. In the interview, he revealed his thoughts on Deadpool's pansexuality, the size of the budget for the sequel and whether he leaked the famous footage. Of course, some of his answers are a little mysterious.

Reynolds is down for Deadpool getting a boyfriend, saying "What love is to Deadpool may not be what love is to Batman or someone else. I think that could be played up more. He's an outsider in every way, shape, and form . . . "

He continues. "The only thing that you have to consider going forward is, ‘Are we being faithful to the canon that we nurtured and created?' One of those things is that Deadpool is in love with Vanessa. Deadpool isn't in love with Vanessa just because she's a woman. He's in love with Vanessa because he loves her."

He also isn't very concerned about the international controversy a visibly pansexual protagonist could cause. He says, ""That's not really a problem for us, because we were banned in China. We were rated ‘f— you!' in China."

Reynolds also revealed that Deadpool 2 probably won't see a huge budget increase. "The budget is not going to be phenomenally bigger. Who knows? Maybe the budget will be bigger — anything can happen," he said.

On the Deadpool footage that famously leaked and likely played a big role in getting the movie approved, Reynolds said it culprit was definitely somone close to the production. "I know that one of us did it. There's four of us. There's me, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Tim Miller, the director. One of us did it. We all sort of said at the beginning, ‘Someone should leak it. Someone should leak it'…but I'm 70 percent sure it wasn't me."

As always, Reynolds' enthusiasm for his role is infectious and I'm glad he's not afraid to take chances. What do you think? What do you want for Deadpool 2?
