Ridley Scott In Talks To Direct Greg Rucka's Queen and Country

Comic book adaptations are all the rage these days, so it's no surprise to hear that Queen and Country is being turned into a movie. Not every comic book film has to involve superheroes, so having one based on a cool female spy definitely sounds interesting. Turns out it might be interesting enough to get an acclaimed director to work on it.

According to The Wrap, Ridley Scott is currently in talks to direct the film for Fox. Nothing is set in stone yet but it would be quite the boon for the indie comic if Fox manages to convince the Prometheus director to be part of the project.

The comic is written by Greg Rucka, who is known for acclaimed runs on Wonder Woman and The Punisher. Queen and Country is one of the reasons why Rucka is an acclaimed writer since the comic won an Eisner back in 2002. Rucka's series lasted for 32 issues, starting in 2001 and ending in 2007.

Set in the fictional British Secret Intelligence Service, Queen and Country center on an operative named Tara Chace, a top British intelligence agent who is used as bait to draw out an international terrorist after an attack in London.

No release date for the film has been released.
