Ridley Scott Hopes That He Could Continue Making Alien Movies, This Time For Disney

It seems like Ridley Scott is hoping that he'd be able to make more Alien film installments, this time under Disney.

Disney finalized the acquisition of 21st Century Fox three or so weeks ago, and the Alien franchise creator's expressed the willingness to develop more films under the Mickey Mouse House. Though Scott admits he's ignorant of any of the studio's plans, the legendary filmmaker says he hopes that the series might go on in one form or another with or without him in an interview with Digital Spy.

"It looks to me that the Fox deal is certainly going to go ahead with Disney, and I've been with Fox for a number years now. I'm hoping I'll still probably be there so whether or not they go ahead with such a dark subject, being Disney, as Aliens remains to be seen. I think they should because I think, when people have a hard and fast franchise which has ongoing interest, it's crazy not to do something with it."

Despite all the concerns that might come from Disney and Fox's deal, Scott seems to back the acquisition, saying that he admires the business sense of the Mickey Mouse House. However, the question remains – what's going to happen to the Alien franchise now that Fox is part of Disney?
