Pacific Rim 2 Casts Adria Arjona

Pacific Rim 2 has cast Adria Arjona in an unknown role, Deadline reports. Arjona is starring in the upcoming NBC series Emerald City. The show is a retelling of The Wizard of Oz and Arjona plays the protagonist Dorothy Gale. It will premiere on January 6, 2017.

Arjona's resume goes further than that. She also starred in the James Gunn horror movie The Belko Experiment. She co-starred in the 2015 edition of HBO's True Detective and will be in the upcoming Melissa McCarthy comedy Life of the Party.

Arjona joins a distinguished cast for the Pacific Rim sequel. John Boyega from Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a major character in the movie. Other cast members include Gran Torino's Scott Eastwood, The Great Wall's Jing Tian, Aftermath's Levi Meaden and singer Cailee Spaeny.

The full title of the movie is Pacific Rim: Maelstrom. The movie will be directed by Steven S. Deknight, who worked on season one of Netflix's Daredevil. Guillermo del Toro, who co-wrote and directed the first Pacific Rim, is staying on as a producer.

I'm excited to see what Arjona's role will be. Much of the cast and plot of Pacific Rim 2 has been shoruded in mystery. It's still unknown what the plot is or who most of the characters are. Do you have any speculation on the movie?
