Tom Holland Says Spider-Man 3 Will Be Very Different Following MCU Split

It looks like Tom Holland is ready to continue playing Spider-Man even after the character was pulled out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not surprisingly, the Avengers: Endgame star says that Spider-Man 3 will be very different now that Peter Parker is in his own universe.

Holland recently made an appearance at Keystone Comic Con in Philadelphia where he thanked fans for their support (via Comicbook.com). In addition to that, he intends to keep playing the webslinger in more movies.

"It's not the end of me playing Spider-Man," Holland said. "There's definitely more to come."

Interestingly, Holland revealed that he has already been discussing his future movies with Sony.

"We sat down with some of our creatives. We pitched Spider-Man 3, which is going to be something very special, it's going to be something very different. I'm just so grateful that Marvel changed my life and allowed my dreams to come true and Sony allowing me to continue living my dream. It's a crazy week and it's never been done before so we'll see how it goes and it'll be as amazing and as fun," he said.

That's right, Spider-Man 3 is still happening and it looks like it might be set in the same universe as Venom 2. Although Holland didn't share enough details yet, it's great to know that Spidey will continue to make movies despite the split from Marvel.

Sony decided to pull Spider-Man out of the MCU after they failed to reach an agreement with Disney. Despite the drama, Holland still attended D23 Expo 2019 to promote his new Pixar movie Onward.

Onward is scheduled for release on March 6, 2020.
