The recent announcement confirming Ben Affleck's departure from the new DC flick The Batman has certainly led to several people fancasting the Caped Crusader in the Matt Reeves film. That's certainly a strange list but it could get shorter. It was also revealed that Centineo, Elgort, Lerman, and O'Brien are already out of running. This leaves a few good men who seem to be the right age and built for the role.
One name that didn't get on the list is Ben Barnes, who had previously shared a Bosslogic fan art of himself being turned into the Dark Knight. There is little doubt that the star of The Punisher is also interested in the role but it looks like Warner Bros. has other people in mind for the film.
Affleck had previously played the superhero in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as well as Justice League. Although it is sad to know that the Academy Award winner will not reprise the role, it certainly opens up the possibilities for the highly anticipated The Batman.
