It's no secret that Game of Thrones Season 8 wasn't the most satisfying conclusion for the HBO series. After all, it left several story arcs unfinished and let's just say that the ending wasn't what fans were hoping for. However, a new deleted scene may have proven that Sansa Stark actually knows how to use a knife. In addition to that, she actually saved three characters including Missandei.
There have been several Game of Thrones Season 8 deleted scenes released but the one that people are talking about is the extended scene showing Sansa and Tyrion Lannister dealing with the wights in the crypts of Winterfell. In the scene, Missandei and Gilly are hiding from the wights but the creatures are alerted when Baby Sam begins to cry.
The two women cower into a corner as the wights return for them. However, the creatures suddenly fall dead and it is revealed that Tyrion and Sansa have stabbed them with their daggers. The scene appears at the 4:41 mark below.
It's an interesting scene considering that Missandei had previously spoken against Tyrion and Sansa for discussing Daenerys Targaryen. It would have been great to know that the three had settled their differences and that Sansa was brave enough to defend the people in the crypts.
The scene was part of the already lengthy episode The Long Night where Winterfell fought against the White Walker army. It is understandable that the scene had to be cut down since the episode focused on the major battle rather than the smaller fights between the characters. Still, it is great to have seen what could have been if the show was allowed to have longer episodes.
