Game of Thrones Star Confirms Alternate Season 8 Ending was Filmed

Are you one of the millions of Game of Thrones fans who are unhappy with the way the series ended? Kristofer Hivju may have some good news for you. The Fate of the Furious star has just confirmed that an alternate ending was actually filmed for the HBO show.

Hivju recently spoke to Metro UK where he revealed that Game of Thrones Season 8 could have ended differently since they had filmed an alternate conclusion for the series.

"Well, we shot an alternative ending," Hivju confessed. "That was mostly for fun but I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you about that."

So there is a conclusion where Daenerys Targaryen doesn't burn down King's Landing and Jon Snow isn't sent to live in exile beyond the Wall? Unfortunately, Hivju isn't sharing any details about the Game of Thrones Season 8 alternate ending.

"I won't tell you!" Hivju said with a laugh. "But it was fun."

We're not sure what that means but we're hoping it involves a happier conclusion for all the key characters including Hivju's Tormund Giantsbane. For now, it is unclear if we'll ever get to see the other conclusion that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss planned for the show. Nevertheless, we're crossing our fingers on the possibility that it will be released sometime in the future.

Hivju is currently working on Downhill, which is a remake of the Swedish film Force Majeure. The movie also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Will Ferrell, and Miranda Otto.
