Pokemon GO Crosses Over With One Piece For a Special Event This Month

Well, here's a crossover nobody expected. Pokemon GO is still a monumental success around the world and players are still using their mobile phones to walk around parks, streets, and other cool places. So now, the popular mobile game will be crossing over with One Piece of all things as the game adds Monkey D. Luffy's hat for player's avatars and an exclusive Pikachu that will be wearing the future Pirate King's hat.

Starting from July 22 and ending on July 29, fans will be able to catch a special Straw Hat Pikachu that will appear in the game. Don't worry, this isn't a Japanese-exclusive event as Serebii confirmed that the Pokemon will be available to catch around the world. This is an awesome little crossover since who doesn't want a cute Pokemon in Luffy's Straw Hat?

It's also worth noting that One Piece has recently started its Wano arc, which has a great new art style. Fans are really digging it thus far, though many have wondered why the opening to the arc has so many spoilers. Then again, all anime openings have spoilers so this isn't really anything new when you think about it.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android. The Pokemon GO/One Piece crossover starts next week, on July 22.
