New Trailer For Blade Runner 2049 Shows Us The Beauty of Cyberpunk Dystopia

Sony has released a new trailer for Blade Runner 2049, Denis Villeneuve's follow-up to Ridley Scott's 1981 science fiction film based on Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.

The trailer wwas released after a long Facebook live conversation featuring Villeneuve, Harrison Ford, and Ryan Rosling. It features more Harrison Ford's reprisal as Rick Deckard, Ryan Gosling's character, Robin Wright (a police commander), and Jared Leto's sinister role as what appears to be a creator of replicants. We also get a glimpse of Dave Bautista and Ana de Armas. Watch the trailer below:

The new footage doesn't reveal a lot about the plot of the film, but we get a taste of the awesome cyberpunk dystopia visuals and settings that I love. It seems to capture the mood and atmosphere of the original Blade Runner film, and with the upgraded CGI technology we have right now, the sequel looks even more beautiful. I'm so hyped to see this film, and I hope we'll see more Blade Runner films in the near future.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Gosling, Ford, Edward James Olmos, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto, Blade Runner 2049 is slated for release on October 6, 2017.

Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos.
