It took a while but Sony has finally announced the release date for Santa Monica's new God of War game. The PS4 exclusive is set for an April 20 release, which is only a few months away, so fans better start saving up for the game. Frankly, this is one of the most anticipated games coming out this year and we can only hope that it lives up to the hype.
To celebrate, Sony has released a new story-based trailer for the game. Thankfully, there is a ton of new footage that will please those that have been waiting for it. Kratos has kept his past a secret, even to his son, and he even brings up how killing Gods has consequences.
Some have criticized the title for being the video game equivalent of Oscar-bait and those people won't change their minds when they see this trailer. It still focuses on the father-son relationship that had been established previously, though the new setting does add some freshness to the concept. Hopefully, the gameplay is as satisfying as the trailer makes it out to be.
God of War comes out on April 20. There will be a collector's edition with exclusive figurines worth US$129.99. Fans can also get God of War III Remastered on PS4.
