Mike Colter Confirms Madame Gao’s Appearance In The Defenders

Wai Ching Ho's powerful and enigmatic Madame Gao has been making her mark in the Marvel Netflix universe, first debuting in the very first season of Daredevil and then reappearing in the first season of the Iron Fist. Now, new reports reveal that the heroin dealer will be returning to the small screen in Marvel and Netflix's superhero team-up series, The Defenders.

According to MCU Exchange, Mike Colter accidentally confirmed the appearance of Gao during a panel at the Comicpalooza held in Houston last weekend. Colter and Finne Jones were present during the event and were asked which characters fans could expect to see in the upcoming Marvel Netflix series.

While the two began calling out the characters present in The Defenders trailer, fans shouted out Madame Gao and Colter confirmed her return by saying that "We saw Madame Gao [in the trailer]. Gao's in it."

This comes as a surprise to many. Gao did not appear anywhere in the first trailer of The Defenders, so Colter may have slipped up in revealing the villain's participation in the series. If true, Gao is likely to return as an antagonist secondary to Sigourney Weaver's mysterious Alexandra and Elodie Yung's evil Elektra.

The Defenders are set to come together on Netflix on August 18.
