Magic: The Gathering fans know that they'll eventually revisit planes in future sets. Later this Fall, fans we'll be able to revisit Ravnica with the upcoming set Guilds of Ravnica but of course, there are other popular planes we'd like to return to, and the Japanese-themed Kamigawa is definitely on the list.

At this year's SCG Con,Magic: The Gathering Senior Game Designer Gavin Verhey discussed the new casual format called Brawl, and during that panel, he also teased a return to Kamigawa. "Stay tuned if you like Kamigawa," Verhey said. You can watch him mention the popular Magic plane at the 13:30 point in the video below:

Before we get excited, let's not forget about the context in which he said this since he was talking about Brawl and his enjoyment for slipping cards like O-Kagachi into Commander sets. He's probably talking about a supplemental set. Maybe Commander 2018 will have a Kamigawa theme. We already know that next year's sets will be set in Ravnica, so it's unlikely that Wizards of the Coast would tease something further than that this far in advance like this.

Back in May, Magic Head Designer Mark Rosewater ranked Kamigawa "8" on his scale so we probably won't see any new Kamigawa sets anytime soon.
