Luke Skywalker’s Force Powers Sound Menacing In New Star Wars: Episode VIII Rumor

Luke Skywalker's role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens may have been the one with the least lines, but that doesn't mean the Jedi Master's skills haven't levelled up in the past 30 years. Well, at least according to a new Star Wars: Episode VIII rumor.

Undoubtedly, Luke's role in Episode VIII will be a major one. However, with very few details released about the movie's plot and characters, fans have resorted to speculations. One such rumor details Luke's Force powers in a scene in the Rian Johnson film, which surprisingly also features a change in the character's temper.

The new rumored scene comes via Redditor Bothan-Spy, who said:

Hey there true unbelievers,

A couple weeks ago I posted a little bit of info about Ach-To being confirmed as the location of the first Jedi Temple (specifically, the large hut they built at Kerry is "where the Jedi began"). I also mentioned a certain member of the First Order winds up at this location in EpVIII as well. That individual is Kylo Ren.

Here's the saucy bit: A few weeks ago they blew up-- specifically, blew apart-- an Ahch-To hut. According to my source, Kylo and Rey have a conversation that Luke does not like. Luke tries to stop them. Luke gets angry... and the whole hut they are in disintegrates (re: 'blows up'). My source did not specify as to the exact cause of the disintegration, but based on the info I believe Luke accidentally (or perhaps even purposely) does so using the Force.

Obviously this isn't going to be able to be confirmed until the movie drops barring another script leak or MSW or someone receiving similar info, but feel free to set a Remind Me! as always.

Next drop: A returning character from Ep7 will be receiving the "Skywalker Special"...

It wouldn't be surprising if this actually happens. In the original trilogy, although Luke was able to control his emotions and anger towards Vader by the end of Return of the Jedi, he has been shown to have a short temper and impulsive choices (i.e. The Empire Strikes Back where Luke decides to cut his training with Yoda to save Han and Leia.)

If this rumor is true, then this scene will be something fans would definitely want to see in Episode VIII. Luke may have showcased exceptional Force powers in the original Star Wars trilogy, but for the most part, he just asked a lot of questions and wielded his lightsaber occasionally.

Thirty years can do a lot to a person, even for a Master Jedi like Luke. Again, IF the Reddit post is true, that means Luke has acquired his full Force powers. It seems like we'll also be seeing a Force ability never before seen in previous Star Wars films, namely the skill to combust objects at will.

In any case, even without this showcase of power from look, a face-off between Luke, Rey, and Kylo Ren would be totally cool to see in Star Wars:Episode VIII.
