After The Defenders, Netflix is gearing up for the Punisher standalone series with Jon Bernthal in the lead as Frank Castle. We've gotten a few trailers and some episode titles, but no official release date. Thanks to a leak on Reddit though, it seems we finally know when to expect The Punisher to hit Netflix.

The latest issue of Total Film confirms The Punisher’s release date (October 13th).

Oct. 13 could be earlier than expected as a lot of fans were guessing that the series was going to debut sometime in November. Later October will see the release of the highly anticipated second season for Stranger Things, but Punisher hype will probably have already died down by the time ST releases on the 27th.

Marvel and Netflix haven't confirmed the October release date yet, so we should just take this information with a grain of salt right now. November will also see the release of Thor: Ragnarok, and with that movie being vastly different in terms of genre with The Punisher, I would imagine they want to keep those release dates apart from each other.

Here's the synopsis for the series:

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York's criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

The Punisher (possibly) airs on Netflix Oct. 13.
