When Dragon Ball Super airs this coming weekend, we'll be able to watch the Tournament of Power's climactic battle between Goku and Jiren, and as we've seen in the previews, it looks like Goku is finally going to master his Ultra Instinct form. However, the Universe 7 Saiyan isn't the only fighter getting a surprising change. His final opponent Jiren, who's usually emotionless and cold, is about to crack a smile.
Twitter user Terez shared a Dragon Ball Super image from the Weekly Shonen Jump, and it includes some teasing details about episode 129.
The title of the next episode is Transcending the Limit! Mastering the Ultra Instinct!! and as the title suggests, it will reveal Goku's most powerful form yet. The new Shonen Jump issue continues to tease this exciting moment: "The Tournament of Power turns into a 1-on-1 fight between Goku and Jiren! The cornered Goku unconsciously unleashes his dormant power, rapidly increasing his battle power! He draws near to the ultimate fighting form, Ultra Instinct!"
Although the previews haven't revealed Jiren powering-up to a new form, the preview did tease his shift in personality,"Seeing Goku's rising battle power, Jiren cracks a smile! As if to return the favor, he punches at Goku with full power that he had been hiding! Has the winner been decided?!"
I'm glad to see that there's a hint of character development for Jiren. Compared to other Dragon Ball villains, his personality is more complex as he doesn't really have any evil intentions. Although his background story is lackluster, there's a lot of interesting things the anime can expand on, and hopefully, we'll see his character develop further in the last few episodes.
