Dave Bautista has come a long way from being Batista, his WWE moniker. The former WWE Champion rose to fame as Drax the Destroyer from Guardians of the Galaxy and his star has not stopped shining since. He's proven to be even funnier and more charismatic in the second Guardians film, as well as Avengers: Infinity War, so everyone is excited to see what else he has planned.
While taking part in a Twitter Q and A with GameSpot, Bautista was asked by a fan if he was interested in playing Marcus Fenix from the Gears of War games on Xbox One. Bautista has revealed that he has been pursuing that very role for many years, which is a neat revelation.
Considering how absurdly huge Fenix's character model is in the first three Gears of War games, only someone with Bautista's build could pull it off these days. Sure, Bautista's now thinner than he was in his WWE prime but that still makes him bigger than most everyday people.
The Coalition and Epic Games have been trying to get a film based on the game series off the ground, even enlisting help from Universal Studios. If they can get a big MCU star like Dave Bautista, interest in the film would be high. At least until they realize it's a video game movie and most of those films suck.
Bautista has confirmed that he will return (somehow) for Avengers 4 next year and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
